Members please, find the attached Charters Towers Branch Chairman’s Annual Report & Secretary/Treasurer Victor Nicol’s account below of their AGM for the Y2025.

For a small branch they definitely pull well above their weight.
Our Congratulations go to them for a great year.
Regards to all,
Tony  Wadeson.
Hello  All,
On Friday the 27th February the Charters Towers Branch conducted our AGM at the Charters Towers RSL to be  followed by the monthly meeting.
The meeting was attended by seven members with one apology and one non-attendance.
After the preliminaries, Raymond gave the 44th President’s report which was well received, a  movement accepted the report and it carried.
I then gave the Financial and Assets Reports and moved that they be recorded as true and correct. The movement was carried.
The executives then vacated the chairs. Life Member Alby Coffison then chaired the meeting and nominations were called for  executive positions.
Raymond Barrett was again nominated as President, he accepted the position and the vote carried.
Yours truly was nominated as Treasurer and Secretary; I accepted and the vote carried. I moved that all members of our Branch be Committee Members, Raymond seconded the nomination and the vote carried.
The date for the 2027 AGM was discussed and the decision was that the 2027 AGM would be held on Friday the 19th February, 2027.
The President then closed the AGM at  1540 Hrs.
The February Meeting followed, during General Business, our next project being a “Memorial Sone dedicated to the 31st Infantry Battalion” to be placed at the Charters Towers RSL was discussed.
Alby Coffison’s son had located and photographed stones at a local mine that seem to be ideal for our project.  After enquiries, permission was granted  and we now have the stones for our memorial.
Now comes the interesting section, what to include on the memorial.
Our thoughts are an Australian Army Badge at the Top, the Chocolate and Gold colors and a plaque etc. below.
We would appreciate any suggestions from the Association members on items that may be included  on the memorial.
Thank You,
Kind Regards,
Vic Nicol.
Secretary, Charters Towers Branch.
